Tips for cooking beef
With so many cuts of beef available, there is no end to the ways it can be cooked. With a little technique, and by keeping a few important tips in mind, you’ll be able to turn any cut of beef into a fabulous meal!
Our top beef tips:
- Fat is your friend when cooking beef. Marbling of fat will melt when cooking and help keep the meet tender and flavourful.
- Shorten cooking time when using beef on the bone. Bone is a great conductor of heat, so meat on the bone will cook faster than meat with no bone.
- Beef should be at room temperature when you start cooking to ensure even cooking. Take it out of the fridge one or two hours in advance to let it warm up.
- When cooking anything other than ground beef, let it rest for a few minutes before carving. This lets the meat fibres absorb the juices and makes the beef more tasty. Cutting too early lets the juices flow out.
